Credit limit validation now includes metered usage
Moderate Upgrade
❗ Important: This feature is currently in the Early Availability (EA) status.
Credit limit validation has been enhanced to include metered usage products in credit limit utilization calculations.
Previously, metered usage was counted toward a customer's credit limit only after the invoice was generated at the end of the billing period. With this enhancement, metered usage is now considered as soon as it is posted even though invoicing continues to occur at the end of the month.
Key highlights
- Metered usage is now included in credit limit utilization calculations immediately upon posting, improving accuracy and timeliness.
- Marketplaces and resellers gain improved oversight of credit exposure, with all billing events validated against credit limits from the outset.
- The platform applies credit limit validation uniformly across checkout, subscription, and renewal processes.
- Customers reaching their credit limit due to metered usage are restricted from placing new orders, renewals, and marketplace purchases. Downgrades, however, are still permitted.
- For metered usage occurring outside the platform, developers receive notifications, allowing them to manage customer restrictions proactively.
